Post 6 Chapel Hill Hosts NC Pork Council Event

If you missed our Hog Event last weekend, your loss.  This reporter visited Friday night to wish the teams well, scout out the program, “grin-hug-and grip,” and cheer them on.  As I crested the entrance hill, I was immediately greeted by a gaggle of RVs set up for the night.  These guys take their pig events seriously.  Everyone was smiling, bragging, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of the the pigs.  Cookers were at the ready.

Passing of Yolanda Heavlin

It is with deep regret that we share with Post members the passing of Elvia Yolanda “Yoli” Heavlin on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Yolanda was a member of the Post 6 Auxiliary and is the spouse of Past Post Commander Lee Heavlin.

The Passing of Tim Ross

Sadly, we share that Timothy “Tim” Ross, 83, a resident of Chapel Hill, NC, and valued member of Chapel Hill Post 6, passed on February 20, 2022, at the Cedars of Chapel Hill. Tim is a member of our Heroes of Post 6 in recognition of his dedication and drive as a member and past officer of Chapel Post 6 during a period of Post 6 Renewal.
