Orange County Gymnastics Open House – Sep 8th

The Orange County Department of Social Services will hold four focus groups to gather feedback about how the county can improve the services it provides to area veterans. There will be two focus groups in Chapel Hill and two in Hillsborough over the next two weeks. The focus groups will be located at Social Services buildings in each town, and there will be both afternoon and evening sessions. Get involved to support veterans in our community by sharing your experiences.

On Flag Day, June 2011, local veterans dedicated a new flagpole for University Mall. The original flag was now showing signs wear and Ken Jackson, owner of Wentworth & Sloan Jewelers talked to Delos O’Daniel of the American Legion. As always, Delos said, “Don’t worry about it. I can handle it,” and so he did. Delos located a new flag for Ken Jackson and assisted with its raising on Wednesday, August 8th. Flag color guard members were Bud Hampton, Delos O’Daniel, and Ed Gill.
