Scout Court of Honor – Jan 30th

January 24, 2013 ChpHillP6 Court of Honor, Flag Retirement

Troop 505 announced that their Court of Honor will start as usual with a heart-warming Flag Retirement Ceremony. The troop will present 81 Merit Badge awards that have been earned, 17 Rank Advancements, and two Special Awards. The Court of Honor is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Harrison Czajkowski of Chapel Hill and Troop 505 is the recipient of the American Legion, Department of North Carolina, Division winner of a scholarship for up to $1,000 to attend a Boy Scout High Adventure Trek of his choice. He was sponsored by Chapel Hill Post 6.

Troop 505 joined our post just one year ago. They were in urgent need of a new home and we welcomed them. It was a perfect fit. Our 35+ acre site is a natural site for Boy Scout and Cub Scout activities.

Troop 39 Gathers for 100th Year

Our post is 93 years old, but Chapel Hill’s Boy Scout Troop 39 has been serving Chapel Hill even longer. It celebrated 100 years of service this week. The troop gathered at Chapel Hill Post 6 on Memorial Day weekend to remember, renew friendships, and celebrate their centennial year. There was barbecue, games, ceremonies, displays, and plenty of troop alumni.
