Post 6 Enters Pig Picking Contest

On Friday, October 22, 2021, Post 6 will be sending a four-man cook team, “Ram Team 6”, to American Legion Post 116 (Fuquay Varina, NC) to compete in their 3rd Annual Whole Hog & Shoulder Cook-off.  This is an overnight event, and judging will commence on Saturday, October 23rd.

Please come out and support our “Ram Team 6” on Saturday, October 23, 2021, between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM during the People’s Choice Award Sampling. You are welcome anytime to visit the team for moral support, but we really need your support during the People’s Choice Award Sampling.  We need participants to evaluate our entries against the many others, and the competition is keen.

• Here are the contest rules on the judging and sampling.  
  People’s Choice Award will be awarded to the team that collects the most votes by the people
  attending the Festival.
  a. Attendees of the festival wishing to participate in the People’s Choice Award Competition will
  be sold one ticket per entered team, for $10, and given a score sheet.
  b. Participants will then be able to give one ticket to each of the entered teams for a sample of their
  Pork Shoulder BBQ.
  c. They will then mark their score sheet with the team they think is the best and turn it into the
  American Legion cook-off staff.
  d. The People’s Choice Award competition will not start before all teams have turned in their respective Pork Shoulder samples
  for the Blind Taste Test Competition.
