Post Elections are held at our May General Membership meeting.  Elections are the most important event for the post.  It is when we gather together and select our new leaders.  Leadership selection is not a reward.  Post Leadership is an immense task and a post needs talented men and women to guide the post through a year that includes a significant number of events that require a lot of work to make it a success.

Our Nominations Committee reports out on Thursday, April 6th, at the PEC meeting. That report will include a list of candidates for Post Year 2023-2024. This list is not the post ballot. We will call for additional candidates from the floor during our April 11th meeting. Are you interested? Watch for information from the Adjutant.

Why I Belong to the American Legion

As this writer completes another set of stories about our Post’s activities in Chapel Hill, I am reminded of the value of an active, vibrant post in our community. No, not just in our community, but in towns, villages, cities and counties throughout our nation. Have you ever asked yourself, “What would our town be like without an American Legion post?” “Do we make a difference?” For us, I need only point to our recent successes with youth. Our youth are our future.
