The award-winning documentary “Boys State” follows four young men during a week at Texas Boys State in 2018, the year after their predecessors voted to secede from the U.S. That event prompted filmmakers Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss to make the film, which follows Ben Feinstein, Steven Garza, Robert McDougal and Rene Otero through the program.

Read moreNick Clemens of Chapel Hill, was elected Governor of the American Legion Tar Heel Boys’ State, on Wednesday, June 19th. His election took place during a week-long event at Catawba College. Nick is a rising senior at Carrboro High School. He is also on the Carrboro High School Lacrosse team.
Read moreA local muscular therapist, Julie Donnelly, assisted local veterans by holding a class for post members. The class taught our members how to release body pain. This clinic was her idea as a fund-raising event that will benefit everyone! Non-members are asked to make a $15 donation to the Post’s 2013 American Legion Boys State Program.
