Dogs Serving Veterans
Did you know that there is a local group training dogs for veterans with disabilities? Yes, right here in our own backyard there are people working to help veterans. It is Eyes, Ears, Nose and Paws (EENP). They were those sharp looking dogs in the Chapel Hill Christmas Parade.
The post is working now with them to find ways we can help each other. Their group is only three years old and serves Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and the surrounding area. EENP trains and places assistance dogs.
John Stephens, Board Chair for EENP, states, “Our programs create a healthier community by increasing independence for individuals with disabling medical conditions, improving opportunities for individual control over medical care, and encouraging therapeutic interventions that improve physical and mental health.” Learn more
How can you help? The post will need someone to work with EENP as we explore ways we can assist them in them through fundraising, post events, and community outreach. Sound like you? Contact the post commander.
