Veterans Day Event – Passmore Center Breakfast
There is a breakfast honoring veterans as a Veterans Day Event at the Passmore Center on Nov. 10, 2017, from 8:30 to 10:30 am. The Passmore Center is co-located with the Orange County Sportsplex in Hillsborough off of Hwy 70 at 103 Meadowlands Drive, Hillsborough, NC.

I remember Vietnam and receiving a Christmas packages from my sweetheart and mom. I remember broken cookies, a small bible, trinkets, popcorn for packing, and the notes. There is something special about Christmas for servicemen and women. It reminds us of our service days and those with whom we shared our holidays with far away from home. Be it World War II, the Frozen Chosin, the Delta, the Highlands, the jungles of South America, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and more, we all have our memories.

Veterans Day 2016 starts at the Hillsborough Senior Center with a breakfast hosted by The Orange County Department on Aging. Veterans are invited to a free breakfast hosted in their honor on Friday, Nov. 11, from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Danny W. Hassell, U.S. Army, will be the guest speaker. The breakfast will take place at the Passmore Center, which is located at 103 Meadowlands Drive in Hillsborough.
