Golden Corral and its guests raise millions for Disabled American Veterans organization. They do this by providing a free meal to local veterans at most Golden Corral restaurants. The Disabled American Veterans are present at the dinner and accept donations for their programs to assist disabled veterans.

Catholic Vets Raise Money for Amputees

A number of our post members belong to St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. Each year, since 2006, these men have promoted a Veterans’ Day weekend fundraiser. Their project benefits recent amputees who have returned from Afghanistan and other countries. They are now in the hospital at Ft. Bragg or Camp Lejeune.

Grady Brown Elementary School, Hillsborough, will again have a program for veterans this year. Last year’s event was put on by the students to honor the attending veterans. They also presented a show on the National Flag.
