VA Healthcare for Returning Servicemembers

Veterans who served in a theater of combat operations after November 11, 1998 are eligible for an extended period of eligibility for health care for 5 years post discharge.

This is an important benefit for veterans any many may not be aware of it.  Share this information with your friends and family.  Ask a current vet, “Are you using the VA for healthcare?”  Let them know that help is available.  In addition, the VA may learn of a service connected disability during treatment.
