Time for July 4th in Caldwell

When was the last time you went to a small town parade?  No PACs, no agendas, no anti-this or anti-that…just Happy Birthday to the U.S.A.

4-firetruckSome post members are part of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chapel Hill.  Still others are non-members, but they get involved in the community at senior centers, libraries, schools and more.  They join together to participate in a small town parade at the crossroads of NC 57 and NC 157 (Guess Road).

There are bikes, motorcycles, scooters, manure spreaders, tractors of all sizes and colors, old and new cars and trucks, walkers, horses and more.  It all starts at 11 a.m., but we gather at 10:15 at the fire station.  The cook tent goes up at 9 a.m. at the Caldwell Civic Center.

The VFW provides hot dogs and cold water.  Everyone brings something to share.  Want to learn more, visit Post 9100’s website to learn more.
