Loss of Delos O’Daniel

It is with great regret that we announced the passing of Delos O’Daniel after an extended illness on November 8th, 2013.

Those of us that worked with Delos at the American Legion knew of his selfless dedication to the Legion and to his comrades. He took on any and every job that needed to be done. His contributions can be seen and felt throughout the post home and in our town.

Until his illness set in, Delos prepared and served countless winter meals for the members that brought lots of comments, not only for the quality, but for his pleasant, caring manner. It was like joining him and his family for a Sunday dinner.

Hall-Wynne announced, “The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Delos O’Daniel will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 16, 2013, from Carrboro United Methodist Church. The Reverends Rani Woodrow and Bob Eldredge will preside. Following the service, he will be laid to rest with military honors in Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro.”

Friends were asked to visit with the family from 6 – 8 pm on Friday, November 15, 2013, at Hall – Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
