Note from the Commander
Dear Legionnaires and Auxiliary members,
I cannot tell you how excited I am as we move through the building process. Today I sat down with Bruce Runberg, Frank Horner, and Jim Parise (via long distance call) and finalized our kitchen design with a food equipment supplier. With Frank’s working knowledge of the ergonomics of a kitchen, Jim’s design acumen, and Bruce Runberg’s untiring effort to keep the design of the building forward, we were able to successfully lay out a kitchen design that will meet any need that we have now or will in the future. There is no food service requirement that we will not be able to meet.
Again, I am simply amazed by the talent we have in our Post membership. Your committees are running at full steam carefully refining the scope of work as well as the quality and monitoring every penny spent. While I may have somewhat overstated how our new building would look (calling it the Taj Mahal), you will not be disappointed and it will definitely exceed your expectations.
At our last meeting, Bob Medred presented a moving landscape picture taken from a drone. He will most likely replay that at the next meeting so everyone can see what a beautiful piece of property our “Purchase Committee” (lead by Paul Horwhat) found during their search for the perfect new home. It is an amazing piece of property.
At our last meeting our new Post Officers were elected, so in June (if you haven’t been to a meeting recently), please come by and meet our new officers…the men will be wearing sport coats or suits and our lady officers will be wearing executive attire. I, by the way, am reelected your Post Commander for our 2018-19 Centennial Year and look forward to seeing you in June. New officers assume their duties on June 30th, concurrently with the installation of state officers.
Finally, please remember our annual Memorial Day event. Lee Heavlin has posted the sequence of events and I know it will be a grand success…even bigger than our previous events.
Until I see you again, I wish all of you the best of health and hopefully wealth. You are a special group of people and our new Post will affirm just how special you are.
Sincerely,
Bill Munsee
Commander
