USS NORTH CAROLINA Skipper Receives Stockdale Award

The Navy announced recently two 2016 Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale Leadership Award recipients. Commander Gary G. Montalvo, commanding officer of USS North Carolina (SSN 777) was named the Pacific Fleet recipient. We salute Commander Montalvo for leading our state’s namesake submarine’s crew to excellence.

Also named at the same time was the Fleet Forces recipient. He is Commander Ken J. Kleinschnittger, former commanding officer of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 12 and currently working with Navy Expeditionary Combat Command forces, is the Fleet Forces recipient. Learn more
