Post Elections – May 12th
We are about to conclude another successful post year. A year that continued our trend of increasing activities, promoting and developing community awareness, building our post membership, and developing a strong cadre of post officers on the Post Executive Committee who are committed to continuing our 96 year legacy of service.
It is now time to select new officers who will take office in June, as our state officers take office. Our Nominating Committee, chaired by Vice Commander Robert Medred, worked with existing and potential officers to present a slate of officers that have not only the skills to succeed, but also the desire to grow our post and prepare it for the future. Their recommendations were presented at the April Post Meeting and a copy was mailed to all members for their review and consideration.
The slate will be presented a second time at our May meeting on May 12, 2015. Additional nominations, if any, will be accepted from the floor. You are encouraged to attend the May meeting to vote for post officers. Your presence sends a strong, clear message of support for the post and the candidates.
Members often ask, “How can I help?” You can help by participating in post activities and encouraging non-member veterans to join the American Legion.
Other members can not make it to a post meeting. If you can’t make it to a meeting, ask for a ride. Home bound? Consider helping membership and programs as a coordinator that calls members and others from home as we develop post programs. There is something for everyone.
We also need help recruiting new members. Young or old, every veteran counts and can add their own special set of skills and values to the post. We need active, contributing members to rebuild our post. A new post home with great resources is useless without active members to give it life.
We look forward to seeing you at our May Meeting,
