Christmas Dinner at Post 6 – 2021
The Post held its first Annual Member Christmas Party on December 11th and it was a huge success.
About 80 members gathered from 5 p.m. for a social hour with elegantly served hors d’oeuvres. The main course was a catered dinner with portions of roast pork, roasted chicken breast (or dark meat), vegetables, small potatoes, and a chef’s salad prepared and served by Marcel’s Catering Cafe of Chapel Hill.
Dinner conversation was active and varied with the sharing of glad tidings, family stories, jokes, limericks, tall and short tales, reminiscing, the introduction of a members’ new baby, and the rumor of an wedding engagement in the wind.
There were also many, many door prizes and a 50/50 to benefit North Carolina American Legion Boys and Girls State Post 6 selectees.
A special thanks to the Christmas Party Committee, led by Immediate Past Post Commander Bill Munsee. The committee decorated the post with style and pride in the Post. The entrances, gather space, and main dining area were decked out in the traditional Christmas Holiday style with lots of lights, and a huge lighted wreath for the dining room created by Morgan Whitmore. The tables were simply beautifully arranged and decorated. “Well Done!” was proclaimed to all.
