Department of NC Convention Canceled
The American Legion Department of North Carolina has announced that the North Carolina Department’s convention set for Raleigh in June 2020 is canceled. This announcement follows the recent cancellation of the National Convention.
Department Commander James Moore wrote, “The decision to cancel these events and programs was extremely difficult but deemed necessary, first and foremost in the interest of health and safety, and in the face of uncertainty. “
In addition, some very visible American Legion programs will have changes for this year. They are:
- American Legion Baseball and Softball are canceled for 2020.
- Tarheel Boy’s State set for 21-27 June is canceled.
- NC Student Trooper Program set for 19-24 July is canceled.
